1Who we are and what these terms cover
Dugri is a Windows application for voice dictation in Hebrew (the "Software"), together with its website (the "Site"; both together, the "Service"). The Service is operated by the operators of Dugri ("we", "us").
Installing the Software, activating a licence key or buying a subscription means you accept these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept them, please do not install or use the Service.
You must be 18 or older, or have the consent of a parent or guardian.
2The Service and your licence
You press a hotkey, you speak, and the text is typed into the app you have open. Transcription runs on your computer with a speech engine that is downloaded once on first run (see Third-party components).
In return for payment (or during the trial) we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to install and use the Software for as long as your subscription is valid, on up to the permitted number of devices. You may use it for your own work.
The licence does not transfer ownership of the Software. You may not copy and distribute the Software, sell or rent access to it, bypass the licence check, or reverse engineer it, except where the law or the licence terms of a third-party component (see Third-party components) expressly allow it.
3Licence key and devices
- Your licence key is emailed to you after purchase or when you start the trial. It is personal. Do not publish or share it.
- One key can be activated on up to two devices. On activation the computer name is stored so that you can recognise the device. To free a slot, deactivate an old device in the Software settings, or write to us.
- The Software checks that your key is valid with Polar when it starts and about every 12 hours. If you are offline it keeps working for up to 7 days from the last successful check. After that, dictation is locked until you reconnect.
- A key that was revoked, whose subscription ended, or that was shared beyond what is allowed will stop working.
4Subscription, payment and billing
There are two plans: ₪24 per month, or ₪199 per year (a saving of about 31% compared with 12 monthly payments). The binding price is the one shown on the checkout page at the moment you buy.
Automatic renewal. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (month or year) on the same plan until you cancel it.
Polar as merchant of record. Payment is processed by Polar (Polar Software Inc.), which acts as the merchant of record for the transaction: it collects payment, calculates and remits taxes where required, and issues receipts and invoices. Your card details go to Polar and its payment providers only and are not visible to us. Polar's own terms also apply to the payment. Prices are in Israeli shekels; tax, where it applies, is calculated and shown at checkout before you confirm.
Price changes. We will email you at least 30 days before a price change that applies to a renewal. You can cancel before it takes effect.
Failed payments. If a payment fails we may retry it, and if it still fails the subscription is stopped and the licence is blocked until payment is made.
5Free trial
New customers get a 7-day trial with all features. A payment method is entered at sign-up, and nothing is charged during the trial. If you do not cancel before it ends, the subscription becomes a paid one on the plan you selected, and the first charge is made at the price shown at checkout.
You can cancel at any moment during the trial and pay nothing, through subscription management (see the next section). One trial per customer. Abusing the trial, for example by repeatedly opening new accounts, may lead to a block.
A bonus week for active users
Use it a lot? Get another week free. If you dictate at least 5,000 words in the Software during the trial, the trial is extended once by 7 more days, and the first charge moves back to match. The extension is given once per subscription, and only while the subscription is still in its trial and has not been cancelled.
The Software counts the words on your computer and shows on the Dictation screen how many are left. When you reach the threshold, the Software sends us only your licence key, the activation ID and the word count, never the text itself, and we extend the trial through Polar. An extension reached through artificial dictation, for example replaying the same recording or using an automated tool, may be cancelled. We may change the offer or stop it for new subscriptions, and the price and terms shown to you at checkout remain in force.
6Cancellation and refunds
Cancel any time
You can cancel whenever you like: in the Software under Settings > Subscription > "Manage subscription", which opens the Polar customer portal, or by writing to dawnaibusiness@gmail.com. Cancelling stops future charges. Access stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
Your right to cancel under Israeli consumer law
If you bought as a consumer in a distance sale, you have the rights granted by the Consumer Protection Law, 5741-1981, and the Consumer Protection Regulations (Transaction Cancellation), 5770-2010. Among other things, a distance transaction can be cancelled within 14 days from the day of the transaction or from the day you received the document setting out its terms, whichever is later. If you cancel because you changed your mind, a cancellation fee may be charged up to the amount the law allows (the lower of 5% of the price or NIS 100); no fee applies when the product is defective or differs from what was promised. These rights are subject to the exceptions set by law.
To cancel, email dawnaibusiness@gmail.com or cancel in the Polar portal. We will return the payment to the original payment method, through Polar, within the period set by law after receiving your cancellation notice.
Beyond the legal minimum
Other than that, we do not refund the unused part of a period that was already paid, unless the law requires it or we decide to in a specific case. If a fault prevents you from using the Software, write to us first and we will make every reasonable effort to solve it.
7Acceptable use
Use Dugri lawfully and in good faith. Do not use it to infringe the rights of others, break the law, bypass technical or licence restrictions, or harm the infrastructure of the Service or of third parties.
The Software records your microphone while you use it. You are responsible for making sure that recording other people's voices, for example in a call or a meeting, is lawful and done with consent where required.
8Transcription accuracy and your content
Transcription is produced by an artificial-intelligence model and can be wrong: similar-sounding words, names, numbers, mixed Hebrew and English, and punctuation. Read the text before you send or save it. Do not rely on a transcript without checking it in medical, legal, financial or safety-related matters.
The content you dictate is yours and you are responsible for it. We do not see it and we do not store it (see the Privacy Policy).
9Third-party components
Dugri is built on the open work of others. We thank them, and list the main components and their licences here. These licences apply to the components themselves and do not change the terms of use of Dugri as a product.
- HandyMIT
An open-source dictation app from which Dugri was developed. Copyright © CJ Pais and the project contributors.
- ivrit.aiApache-2.0
The Hebrew speech-recognition models that power transcription. The ivrit.ai models are based on OpenAI Whisper (MIT licence).
- whisper.cppMIT
The local inference engine for Whisper models.
- ONNX RuntimeMIT
A model-execution library from Microsoft.
The Software also includes other open-source libraries, each under its own licence and notice, which ship with the Software. The Heebo typeface is distributed under the SIL Open Font License. "Claude", "ChatGPT" and the names and logos of other products and companies mentioned or shown on the Site are marks of their owners and are used for identification and description only. We are not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
10Intellectual property
The design, the name "Dugri", the logo and the content of the Site belong to us or to their licensors, and the licences described above apply to the components listed. The text you dictate is yours. We may use feedback and suggestions you send us to improve the Service, without payment.
11Availability, updates and changes to the Service
We aim for a stable Service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Parts of the Service depend on third parties: licence checks and payment depend on Polar, and the engine download depends on Hugging Face. We may update, change or discontinue features, and if we make a materially worse change to a feature you bought the Service for, we will offer a fair solution.
12Termination and suspension
You may stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or block a licence that is used in breach of these terms, as a rule after notice, unless there is an immediate risk of harm. If we end the Service on our own initiative and not because of a breach by you, we will refund the payment for the paid period that was not used.
13Limitation of liability
The Software is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, for loss of profit, or for damage caused by a transcription error. Our total liability to you, if any arises, will not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the event.
Your history is stored only on your computer and we hold no copy, so backing it up is your responsibility.
Nothing in these terms reduces the rights the law gives you as a consumer that cannot be waived, or limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence.
14Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. A material change will be posted on the Site and, where appropriate, emailed to you at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continued use afterwards means you accept the updated version, and if you do not, you may cancel your subscription. The date of the latest update is at the top of the page.
15Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of the State of Israel, and the competent courts in Israel have jurisdiction. This does not affect rights that the law gives consumers. If the Hebrew and English versions differ, the Hebrew version prevails.
